Non-Executive ChairmanSadek Elsewedy is the CEO of Elsewedy Industries and the Co-Founder of Elsewedy Electric, bringing over 35 years of executive experience to these positions. He joined Elsewedy Electric’s Board of Directors in 2005.
Elsewedy kicked off his professional career as a university student, working in the family business to bolster operations. In 1986, he joined his late father, Mr. Ahmed Elsewedy, in building the first ever cable factory at 10th of Ramadan. In 2006, Elsewedy was appointed as Group-Chairman (Elsewedy Electric – Elsewedy Industries).
Throughout his career, he was appointed as General Manager of the Elsewedy Trading Company, which quickly became the Group’s strongest trading arm. He also founded diverse industrial companies for the Group, such as lighting fixtures, transformers, steel structure, cement, and other building materials.
Elsewedy graduated from Cairo University in 1982, earning his bachelor’s degree in Commerce. He also completed overseas training courses in the US, Japan, and Europe.

Chief Executive OfficerAhmed Elsewedy was appointed as a member of Elsewedy Electric’s Board of Directors in 2005, and currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, leveraging over 35 years of experience in the fields of electricity and energy.
In 1986, Elsewedy led the first private cable factory in Egypt, Arab Cables Co., turning it into one of the largest worldwide providers of integrated energy solutions with over thirty production facilities spanning sixteen countries. With his significant contributions, Elsewedy Electric has grown significantly over the years. Through streamlining operations, acquiring new businesses, and penetrating new markets, the company was able to expand rapidly, currently housing a team of over 17,000 employees and exporting to over 110 countries.
Elsewedy received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University in 1986. He is an esteemed member of several professional associations, serving in various capacities. He is the Chairman of the ECBC (Egypt China Business Council), Chairman of Ethiopia, Iraq, Lebanon, Zambia, and Algeria’s Business Councils, in addition to his active role as a member of the American, Japan, French, South Africa, Tunisia, Kenya, Austria, Kuwait, UAE, and Egypt Saudi Arabia’s Business Councils, among others.

Board MemberMohammed Elsewedy is the Vice President of Elsewedy Electric, and joined the Board of Directors in 2005. His role across the Elsewedy Group has played an integral part in shifting the family business from being a local cable company producer to becoming one of the largest integrated energy solutions providers worldwide by tapping into new markets and expanding its geographical footprint. He is an innovator, having pioneered the manufacturing of special cables and fiber glass poles in the region, and advanced through many positions inside Elsewedy Electric that included operational, managerial, and business development posts. His diligent work was also a main contributor to the setup of United Industries Elsewedy- UIC – responsible for the production of critical electrical products in the cables and energy sectors.
In addition to being the Vice President of Elsewedy Electric, Mohamed is the Co-founder of Breadfast, an online grocery delivery company, the Founder and Owner of Magma Sportwear, as well as Kings Polo Club, the top equestrian complex in Egypt.
Elsewedy earned his Bachelor of Science from the New York Institute of Technology in 2005.

Amr Labib
Board MemberAmr Labib has worked at Elsewedy Electric since 1999, and joined the company’s Board of Directors in 2005.
Boasting over 30 years of experience in Finance, he became the Chief Financial Officer of Elsewedy Electric, and led the team coordinating with Investment Bankers for the company’s initial public offering in 2006, quadrupled credit facilities, and streamlined processes for internal controls. Leveraging his extensive experience, Labib adds tremendous value to the family-owned business.
Labib moved to United Metals Company in 1999, one of Elsewedy Electric’s subsidiaries and the first copper rod plant in Egypt with an annual turnover of EGP 10 billion, from his position at Jeddah Cable Company. He was involved in the setup of the company from the feasibility study phase, with direct responsibility over all commercial aspects of the business, including finance, sales, marketing, customer service, and purchasing.
Labib received his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Cairo University in 1985.

Non-Executive Board MemberAzza Elsewedy is a non-executive board member at Elsewedy Electric, joining in 2021.
Since Elsewedy Electric’s inception, and by leveraging her extensive industry expertise, she has played an undeniable role in spurring the family-owned company’s growth and development on a global scale. In addition to supporting the family business, she participates in many charitable and CSR initiatives.
Elsewedy holds a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Commerce from Cairo University.

Abdelrahman Ahmed Elsewedy
Board MemberAbdelrahman Ahmed Elsewedy is the CEO of Elsewedy Digital and a board member of Elsewedy Electric. He joined the Board in 2017.
Throughout his fruitful career at Elsewedy Electric, he assumed multiple roles, including Business Development Director, that added to his rich experience in business development, portfolio management, and customer relations. Abdelrahman’s solid management skills have enabled him to engage in strategic planning, play a key role in landing new business opportunities locally and regionally, among other activities. Under his leadership, the Elsewedy Electric brand ventured into new markets and was artistically reinvented to keep up with the dynamic competitive landscape.
Elsewedy undertook the challenging task of launching and leading Elsewedy Digital – a new subsidiary offering integrated solutions covering hardware and software aimed at digitizing enterprises, industries, and complete cities.
Elsewedy obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Northeastern University in Boston in 2015.

Ahmed Abou-Hendia
Independent Board MemberAhmed Abu Hendia has been an independent board member at Elsewedy Electric since 2017, and brings a robust legal background to this role.
He is the legal consultant of several local and international well-known companies, and acts as a personal legal consultant to several distinguished figures.
Abu Hendia is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association “Supreme Degree”, the Union Arabs Advocates, the International Bar Association, the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, the London Court of International Arbitration, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, among many more. He is also the Vice Chairman of First Arabian Development and Investment Company and Al Ahly for Development & Investment Company, in addition to being a board member of a number of organizations alongside his role at Elsewedy Electric, including the Housing and Development Bank, , Egyptian Resorts, Speed Medical, and Cairo 3A International for Investment Company.
Abu Hendia graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, in 1987.

Board MemberAhmed Sadek Elsewedy has been the Chief Operating Officer of Elsewedy Industries Group since 2019, and is a Board Member of Elsewedy Group. He joined Elsewedy Electric’s Board in 2017.
In 2016, Elsewedy served as the General Manager of the Group’s Industrial Sector, bringing an extensive experience of industrial leadership and executive management to his role in the fields of Power and Electricity. Prior to that, he worked at Elsewedy Equipment & Cables (Trading) for 10 years, holding a variety of Management, Operations, Sales, and Marketing positions before serving as the Company’s Commercial Director, where his focus on customers, trading, and execution bolstered the company’s growth.
Elsewedy graduated from SOAS University of London in 2013, earning his bachelor’s degree in International Management of China, Business, Management, Marketing, and related support services.

He brings an expansive track record to the table, boasting over 28 years of experience in the fields of finance, auditing, investment consultations, hospitality, real-estate development, and construction. Ebada’s track record includes working at KPMG Hazem Hassan, Marriott International Hotels, Genena Group, INMA Developments, and Elsewedy Industries.
Ebada holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Business Management from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.

Independent Board MemberShahinaz Foda is an independent board member at Elsewedy Electric. She is the latest addition to the Board, where she joined in 2021.
Foda is a powerhouse in the financial services field, with an expansive expertise in treasury, capital markets, corporate and investment banking, and wealth management. She was featured in the Forbes list for the 200 Most Powerful Women, crediting her strong business and finance acumen.
Foda has held senior positions in various prestigious banking institutions throughout her successful career, including the Deputy Managing Director and Board member of Emirates NBD, and BNP Paribas, and General Manager of Egyptian American Bank.
She is the Founder and CEO of One Advice Financial Advisory, an FRA regulated company, in addition to being an independent board member in several listed and unlisted institutions covering various industries.
Foda holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from The American University in Cairo, and was named a distinguished alumna by the university.

Elsewedy took charge of the first private cable factory in Egypt, Arab Cables Co., in 1986, turning it into a leading global provider of integrated energy solutions with over thirty production facilities, a team of over 17,000 employees, and exports across over 110 countries.
With a strong passion for learning and development, and to bridge the gap between business, academics, and society, Elsewedy established the Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) in 2011, offering top-notch learning experiences through sustainable world-class educational institutions with state-of-the-art facilities that positively impact the community.
In efforts to steer the company into more success, Elsewedy oversaw prominent acquisitions, in efforts to broaden the company’s horizon and expand its footprint to more countries. Acquisitions included Iskraemeco for energy management in Slovenia, PSP, EPC contractors in Egypt, 3W Networks, I&C Solutions in Australia, PT CG Power Systems in Indonesia, and Validus Engineering in Pakistan. In 2022, he also signed a manufacturing agreement with Wolong Electric.
Elsewedy received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Cairo University in 1986, and is currently an esteemed member of several professional associations, serving in various capacities.

His passion for innovation has driven the Group to a new scale of a growth, having pioneered the manufacturing of special cables and fiber glass poles in the region.

Vice President & Group Chief Financial OfficerSherif El Zeiny is the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President of Elsewedy Electric, bringing over 30 years of business experience to his position. Since joining the Group in 2015, his diligent work has been an undeniable asset to the Group’s financial and strategic operations.
Heading all financial functions and strategy, corporate development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), digital integration, and investor relations, El Zeiny has been a major driver behind the Group’s success over the years. He was instrumental in developing Elsewedy Electric’s five-year strategy, playing a fundamental role in developing and executing the Group’s growth and scaling strategies. As the Group’s CFO, El Zeiny leads the financial management and growth of the company using a “Think Corporate” approach rooted in Digital Transformation Operations, through restructuring the operating landscape and reaping the benefits of increased productivity, higher efficiency, and increased cost savings.
El Zeiny cascaded a culture of innovation, integration, and automation across the Group in various business functions including, the budgeting and reporting system, supply chain functions, smart procurement, CRM, EPM, cash management, as well as the treasury system. Setting clear goalposts for seamless cross-functional integration, he has also been central in developing strategies for the Group’s regional expansion as well as sustainable growth. His expansive portfolio of record-breaking achievements includes managing multi-billion-dollar turnkey projects, guiding reform programs, and establishing large-scale cross-functional processes and automation systems. Prior to this, El Zeiny was the Chief Financial Officer and General Manager for many reputable multinationals including, NCR, Siemens Egypt and General Motors.
Alongside this, El Zeiny also sits on the board of several of the Group’s affiliate companies, including Elsewedy Cables Egypt – the biggest cables manufacturing company in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region – as well as Elsewedy Power System Projects (PSP) – one of the biggest companies in the power generation field in the MEA region.
El Zeiny holds a Non-Executive Director’s Diploma from the Financial Times, London, an MBA from the University of Seattle, USA, and a BA in accounting from Cairo University.

Wael Hamdy

Group Vice PresidentWael Hamdy has served as the Group Vice President of Elsewedy Electric since 2010, boasting over 25 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure industries.
Hamdy leads Elsewedy Electric's Engineering, Construction, and Development Division (ECDD). The ECDD handles the development, ownership & management, design, build, operation and maintenance of global infrastructure projects, focusing on the Middle East and Africa. The ECDD covers wide spectrum of sectors, including: power generation, energy transition, water projects, oil and gas/petrochemicals, transportation, and infrastructure grids/networks.
Prior to joining Elsewedy Electric, Hamdy held various managerial positions in companies specializing in energy, oil and gas, and hospitality, in Egypt, the UAE, and Romania. Hamdy is an esteemed member of several business councils and prominent organizations, and chairing the Core Energy Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham). He also chairs and sits on the board of numerous companies in Egypt and GCC.
Hamdy holds both a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Power and Electrical Machinery Engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo.

Walid Tayel

Group Chief Human Resources OfficerWalid Tayel has held the position of Group Chief Human Resources Officer at Elsewedy Electric since 2021. His business acumen of over 23 years encompasses international experience in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Morocco, Singapore, Central & South Africa, and England across the field of human resources, finance, banking, governmental relations, education, and organizational development.
Tayel joined Elsewedy Electric in 2020 as the Group Talent Management and Development Director and was promoted to the position of Group Chief Human Resources Officer in 2021. In his capacity, he was successful in attracting high calibers and retaining prominent industry professionals operating within the Group’s teams. Prior to that, Tayel held a variety of positions in private and public sector organizations, such as the HR Center of Excellence Director at Unilever NAME, HR Director of Global Supply at Unilever, and the Chamberlain of the Egyptian Presidency.
During his career, Walid was awarded the SC Development Award for AACEE region by Unilever in 2007, followed by the Talent Award for AMET region in 2009. In 2010, he won the Global Award for Building a Talent Pipeline, and the Employer of Choice award in KSA. The following year, Tayel won the Winning with People Award across Unilever AACEE, and later in 2019 while working for Braun (P&G), Tayel won the Passionate People Award across the GDM markets.
Tayel represented the AMET region in the Learning Factory workshops, where he was a member of the leadership and coaching development programs, as well as the Unilever HR Academy Trainer between 2007 and 2012. In addition to this, he is a global certified practitioner in many psychometric tools, including MBTI, TKI, Hogan and FiroB, as well as being certified from KPI and Balanced Scorecard institutes.
Tayel holds two master's degrees in financial management and human resources from Université Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris; and has a great passion for research, learning and building talent.

Emad Ghaly

Group Chief Innovation OfficerEmad Ghaly has served as Group Chief Innovation Officer at Elsewedy Electric since April 2022, and the Executive Chairman of Iskraemeco Group Holding – one of Elsewedy Electric’s subsidiaries – boasting over 20 years of industry expertise.
Prior to joining, Emad held the positions of CEO of Siemens and Managing Director of Siemens Energy in Egypt. In his capacity, Ghaly initiated and executed the strategic and monumental Energy Mega project deal with the Egyptian Government. The project was a fruitful collaboration between Siemens, the government at large, the Ministry of Electricity, Elsewedy Electric, the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, and Orascom Construction.
Throughout his career at Siemens, he held various managerial positions across Europe and the Middle East. Before becoming the CEO, he was the Senior Executive Vice President for Wind and Renewables for Siemens in the Middle East, and for Power and Gas for Siemens in Egypt. He also served as Director of Regional Sales in Northern and Western Europe, based in Germany, where he contributed to upscaling the business in several countries across Europe including Germany, the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
Emad holds a master’s degree of science in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris, a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Ain Shams University, and an MBA from the American University in Cairo. At present, he is the President of the German Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, holding this position since 2018.

Group Chief Legal OfficerAhmed Zedan is the Group Chief Legal Officer at Elsewedy Electric, bringing over 17 years of experience in the legal field to his role.
Since he joined Elsewedy Electric in 2013, Zedan has become instrumental to the Group, taking charge on a range of legal, strategic, and business issues. Over the years, and before becoming the Group’s Chief Legal Officer, he has held several senior positions, kicking off his career within the Group as a Legal Counsel, and working his way up to becoming the Deputy Legal Director, Legal Director of Projects and Investments, and Group Legal Director.
In his capacity, Zedan has led a diversified multinational legal team through a plethora of strategic legal issues, as well as high-stake negotiations under different legal jurisdictions. He boasts a robust track record of innovating within the realms of legal structuring, transactions planning, and business and legal risk mitigations. Zedan acts as Elsewedy Electric’s legal advisor, providing strategic counsel to the Group’s businesses and functions. He and his team, one of the strongest and most diversified legal teams in the market, focus on creating solutions that align with the Group’s strategies and help overcome unprecedented challenges. Zedan is now a board member in Elsewedy Electric subsidiaries on both the local and global level.
Zedan earned his LL. B. from Alexandria University’s law school (English Section). Additionally, he is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association since 2005.

Ahmed Shokry
Group Chief Internal Audit & Compliance Officer
Ahmed Shokry
Group Chief Internal Audit & Compliance OfficerAhmed has been Elsewedy Electric’s Group Chief Internal Audit & Compliance Officer since 2020, boasting over 25 years of international experience in the fields of Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Advisory Services.
Shokry leads the Group’s Internal Audit function that covers the entirety of the Group’s business sectors, working in alignment with the Board’s focus on sustainable growth. He is also responsible for establishing necessary standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the compliance programs in place across the Group are effective in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting any non-compliances with laws and regulations and best in class practices.
Shokry earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration in 1999. He is also a qualified Risk and Internal Audit professional (CIA), and a member of the UK institute of internal auditors, with a successful track record in more than 15 countries, as well as professional experience gained from PWC and EY London for managing assurance and advisory projects focusing on corporate governance, board reporting, controls, and risk management.

Manal Hassan

Group Chief Sustainability OfficerManal Hassan is the Group Chief Sustainability Officer at Elsewedy Electric, bringing to her role an aggregate of over 30 years of experience across a diverse range of sectors.
In 2017, Hassan joined the team as Group Sustainability and CSR Director of El Sewedy Electric, as well as Vice Chairman of the Elsewedy Electric Foundation. In her capacity, she was responsible for establishing a Group-wide ESG strategy, in adherence to the UNGC Principles, and Egypt’s vision for 2030. As a result, Elsewedy Electric was deemed the first Egyptian company to begin its journey on ESG reporting, and was also the first company in the Middle East and Africa to obtain the ISO 14067 certification on its carbon footprint from TUV-Nord Germany. It is also worthy to mention that in 2022, Elsewedy Electric’s October Dry Port was awarded the EBRD Sustainability award.
Prior to working at Elsewedy Electric, Hassan held the position of Executive Director of the AAIB Foundation for the Arab African International Bank (AAIB). She also worked for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), leading a team to monitor and evaluate GIZ’s development projects in Egypt. In addition, Manal is a board member on a multitude of profit and nonprofit organizations.
Hassan graduated from the American University in Cairo, and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics. Throughout her impactful career, she received numerous awards for her leadership, strategic thinking, and achievements. Known for her passion for sustainability, Hassan was named one of the Top 50 Women in Egypt in 2017 and 2018, and received the AUC Distinguished Alumni award in 2022.

Tarek Wahby

Tarek Wahby
Group Chief Marketing OfficerTarek Wahby is the Group Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Elsewedy Electric, and boasts over 25 years of experience in strategy formulation, sales, marketing, and business development in the power and information and communications technology (ICT) domains across African and Middle Eastern markets.
Wahby joined Elsewedy Electric in 2018 and held several senior leadership roles in the strategic planning, commerce, business development, and digital sectors.
Over the course of his career, Wahby held various positions across prominent local and multinational firms, including Vice President of Power Systems at Schneider Electric North Africa, MEA Global Sales and Marketing Director of Alkan CIT, and CEO of Esri Northeast Africa.
Wahby holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Ain Shams University, a master’s degree in technology from Nottingham University in the UK, and a master’s degree of Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
